HIV and Curcumin Drugs Are Effective to Overcome Corona? Here are the medical facts

The Wuhan corona virus (corona) outbreak has not arrived at the last episode. Corona virus that emerged at the end of December 2019 continues to take its toll. COVID-19 (the official name of the Wuhan corona virus) has claimed at least 2,400 lives.

Behind the many horrors caused by COVID-19, there is at least one good news about this mysterious virus. According to the data, the number of patients recovering from corona infections also continues to grow.

Of the approximately 78,000 people infected with this virus, at least 23,000 have managed to recover from the fatal threat posed by COVID-19. Various methods are used by experts to cure people with COVID-19, including the use of HIV drugs.

So, what is the relationship between COVID-19 and HIV drugs?

Same Antivirus
At present the Taizhou government in Zhejiang Province, China, uses the first drug to overcome COVID-19. An antivirus called favilavir has been approved by the National Medical Products Administration of China. Favilavir or remdesivir is not the first antivirus used to treat the Wuhan corona virus.

Of the various antivirals used, an HIV drug called nelfinavir is said to be able to overcome COVID-19 infection. Besides in China, the use of nelfinavir is also carried out by the Thai government.

Thailand's Ministry of Health said doctors in his country successfully cured corona virus sufferers by using a combination of drugs used to treat people with HIV and flu.

The use of HIV drugs to overcome COVID-19 infection is not without reason. Experts say the new COVID-19 genetic link, named SARS-CoV-2, is close to the SARS virus which is an RNA virus. This RNA is also the cause of Ebola and HIV or AIDS.

Well, this HIV drug is thought to be able to inhibit other enzymes that allow viruses to break down certain proteins. Not only that, HIV drugs like lopinavir are also said to be able to immobilize the virus to infect cells and apply.

The thing that needs to be underlined, this HIV drug does not "cure" someone from a viral infection. This drug is used as a treatment option to treat corona virus symptoms and infections.

This was also confirmed by experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). They say, there is no specific antiviral treatment recommended for dealing with COVID-19 infection. Until now there have been no studies conducted on humans. The study was only carried out in animals in the laboratory. In other words, there is no guarantee that HIV drugs can cure COVID-19.
