Lower Risk of Breast Cancer with Fiber Consumption


Breast cancer is a type of deadly disease that many lurk women. Every year, people affected by this dangerous condition are increasing in number.

According to data from the Ministry of Health in 2013, breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer after cervical cancer. However, until now the exact cause of the deadly disease is still unknown.

Some conditions that allegedly can make a person more at risk of breast cancer, including:

1. Female sex
2. Have a parent or family with breast cancer (genetic)
3. Obesity or overweight
4. Menstruation at a younger age
5. Often exposed to radiation exposure.

Breast Cancer vs. Fiber

The study, published in the Journal of Pediatrics in 2016, uses 90,534 women aged 26-44 as a participant. The researchers took daily consumption of food data from participants from 1991 to 20 years into the future.

The study found that women who are diligent in taking fiber from a young age have a risk of breast cancer 12-19% lower than women who do not.

The researchers suspect, because fiber can lower estrogen levels in the body, where estrogen is one of the hormones that contribute to the incidence of breast cancer.

Knowing that, you are encouraged to include 10 grams of fiber into the daily menu. This could be one apple, two sheaves of bread, a cauliflower, or a squash.
