Sort-Select Types of Diet

Straightening your body is not prohibited, from exercising diligently to reducing the intake of food that enters the body, aka diet. To reduce weight, there are various diets that can be chosen according to body conditions.

For both health and appearance reasons, losing weight is a common thing for many people around the world. To facilitate the loss of excess fat in the body, various diets or diets have been widely available. Don't be confused about choosing from the many diets available, adjust to your body's needs and abilities.


Diet 5:2
A 5:2 diet is done by eating normally for five days then fasting for two days in a week. In addition to losing weight, this diet is claimed to increase life, improve cognitive function, and protect the brain from conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease. This diet also protects the body from various diseases.

According to one study, a 5:2 diet is thought to help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes by increasing insulin sensitivity. While other studies reveal, a 5:2 diet can help reduce the risk of cancer associated with obesity and breast cancer. However, both studies still need further study and verification.

Side effects of this diet are changes in mood (irritable), insomnia, bad breath, dehydration, and daytime sleepiness.

Dukan diet
The next diet from various diets that are commonly done is the Dukan diet. This diet emphasizes a diet high in protein and low in carbohydrates, and low in fat. Diet Dukan is designed so you don't feel hungry while on a diet. You can choose from 100 different types of food (72 animal and 28 vegetable), and are allowed to eat as much as you want, provided that of the 100 types of food. This diet is thought to be able to lose 15 kg in 8-10 weeks.

But do not be happy first, Dukan diet is not free of side effects. Weight loss is mostly due to loss of body fluids and muscle mass. You can experience fatigue, lack of certain nutrients, constipation, bad breath, dry mouth, to increase the risk of getting cancer if done continuously.

Paleo Diet
The Paleo Diet only allows you to eat natural foods like cavemen in prehistoric times. The food in question is lean meat, eggs, fruits, vegetables, fish, nuts, seeds and vegetable oils. While foods that should be avoided are dairy products, cereal seeds, processed foods and drinks, salt, sugar and potatoes.

The Paleo diet does prevent you from sugar, salt and processed foods. But on the other hand, you can get bored quickly because eating feels tasteless, spending more money because food must be organic, and even can cause insufficient carbohydrate and calcium intake. Moreover, there is no accurate record of how prehistoric humans eat, and lack of scientific evidence regarding this dietary health claim.

Atkins Diet
The Atkins diet loses weight by reducing or not consuming simple carbohydrates at all, but may consume lots of protein and fat. In theory, when you're starving because there aren't enough carbohydrates, the body will start burning fat to get energy. As well as various other diets, this diet can cause side effects, such as nutritional deficiencies, constipation, dizziness, insomnia, nausea, fatigue due to lack of carbohydrates, and potentially lack of fiber.

Before you try the various diets above, make sure you consult first with a nutritionist. Any adoption of a diet can endanger the condition and health of the body.
